Overview
The Gender Commissioner of GRASAG-KNUST is an elected official chosen by the General Assembly during a general election. The Commissioner is responsible for addressing gender-related issues and promoting the integration and participation of all graduate students within GRASAG-KNUST, as well as fostering collaboration with relevant external bodies.
Before assuming office, the Gender Commissioner is required to take the Executive Officer’s Oath and the Oath of Secrecy at a public gathering before the general student body.
This role is central to advancing inclusivity, equity, and representation within the association and ensuring active participation across diverse groups.
Responsibilities
- The Gender Commissioner is responsible for all gender issues and matters relating to the integration and participation of all postgraduate students within GRASAG and other relevant collaborating bodies.
- The Gender Commissioner advocates the course and interest of female post graduate students.
- The Gender Commissioner designs and implements programmes aimed at developing the capacities, skills and knowledge of all post graduate students.
- The Gender Commissioner improves and strengthens communication and co-operation between both gender.
- The Gender Commissioner ensures that polices are not inimical to the advancement of post graduate student in general.
- The Gender Commissioner also performs other functions assigned to her by the executive committee in relation to her office.
