Overview
The Research Committee, chaired by the Research Director, is a key body established to advance the organization’s research objectives. The Research Director is appointed by the President in consultation with the Executive Committee and with the prior approval of the Senate. The Committee comprises one representative from each college, ensuring diverse and inclusive representation, with members also appointed by the President following consultation with the Executive Committee and subject to Senate approval.
Both the Research Director and Committee members are required to take an Oath of Office and an Oath of Secrecy as outlined in the First Schedule of this Constitution, underscoring their commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
This Committee plays a critical role in fostering research excellence, supporting collaborative efforts, and aligning research activities with the organization’s overarching mission and goals.
Responsibilities
- The Research Committee shall promote research among graduate students by planning and executing programme like Research Seminars and workshops etc.
- The Research Committee shall in consultation with the executive committee plan and organize the Annual GRASAG-KNUST Research Conference.
- The Research Committee shall in consultation with the Editorial Board ensure the publication of Articles in the GRASAG-KNUST Journal.
- The Research Committee shall in consultation with the Executive Committee ensure the management and disbursement of the GRASAG-KNUST RESEARCH FUND.
- The Research Committee shall perform any other function conferred on it by the executive council, Executive committee and the Senate.
