UPDATE ON BURSARY

Good day fellow students,

I trust we all doing well. This write up has become necessary due to a release from the National Secretariat of GRASAG purporting that the 2015/2016 bursaries has been released to ALL schools. 
While I cannot speak for all schools, I can speak for KNUST-GRASAG.

THE FACTS
On 25th November, 2016, the national president notified all presidents of the various institutions that the cheques for the bursaries were ready, this notification came around 12:43 pm and in about five minutes I had made several calls to the contact person at the scholarship secretariat only to be told that, the cheque for KNUST-GRASAG wasn't ready. Follow up calls made on different occasions gave us same response. This made us alarmed and took further steps.

Our further investigations revealed that, indeed some other schools had received theirs, however, the BNI had ordered there is a hold up with our cheque until certain anomalies have been corrected.

In the last two weeks or more, leadership has spent most of academic and GRASAG hours meeting the powers that be, both within and beyond KNUST to rectify the situation. 
Just yesterday, myself together with the Dean of Graduate School met with the KNUST Finance officer concerning this same issue, and the advice was that, due to the complexities surrounding the 2015/2016, it was proper we all maintained some level of patience in order not to implicate anyone any further.

However, I assure every student that, leadership has gone far and hope that we can get the issues resolved as soon as possible to get deserving students their monies soonest.
Again, let me state that, KNUST hasn't received any cheque and therefore treat any other information as false!!!
