Overview
The IT Directorate manages IT-related activities for the association, ensuring graduate students’ access to relevant research tools, websites, and educational support, and improving the technological infrastructure to support learning, research, and administration.
The IT Director chairs the Committee and comprises representatives from various Colleges, IDL sectors, and the International Students Association (ISA), ensuring a diverse and inclusive membership.
Before assuming office, all members of the IT Directorate Committee are required to take an Oath of Office and an Oath of Secrecy, as specified in the First Schedule of this Constitution. These oaths affirm their dedication to ethical conduct and confidentiality in their duties.
This Committee plays a crucial role in advancing the organization's technological capabilities to foster innovation, efficiency, and excellence in research and education.
Responsibilities
- The IT Director manages the technical side of the association's website, ensuring uptime, security, and SEO optimization.
- The IT Director works with the executive council to build, test, and deploy all related digital products for the association.
- The IT Director collaborates with the Public Relations Officer (PRO) to perform website updates, ensure public communication, and assist with IT event marketing.
- The IT Director collaborates with the GRASAG Research Committee to plan and facilitate workshops and training sessions on research tools, software, and MS Office skills, assist with research-related tools, and provide technical support for thesis preparation to optimize graduate students' research documentation skills.
- The IT Director provides graduate students with inputs on IT needs and assists in organizing graduate-focused events and feedback.
- The IT Director facilitates the smooth running of the GRASAG IT lab.
